Listen to message
40 I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.

"Rehabilitate" Your View on Marriage or Else
Posted by Jim Minnery · September 05, 2013 3:36 PM
This story has to "take the cake" for sheer honesty by a public official regarding the issue of homosexuality and religious liberty in the public square.
Sweet Cakes by Melissa, a bakery owned by Christians in Gresham, Oregon, is finally shutting it's doors after months of harassment, protests and a vicious boycott by homosexual activists after they refused to bake a wedding cake for a lesbian couple.
After threatening other vendors that even did business with the bakery, gay-rights activists eventually convinced the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries to launch a formal discrimination investigation against the Christian family.
Commissioner Brad Avakian told The Oregonian that he was committed to a fair and thorough investigation to determine whether the bakery discriminated against the lesbians.
“Everybody is entitled to their own beliefs, but that doesn’t mean that folks have the right to discriminate,” he told the newspaper. “The goal is to rehabilitate."
That's right. If you hold a traditional, natural view of marriage that is made up of an actual husband and wife, you need to be "rehabilitated" and they are willing to shut your business down if you refuse. Forget the fact that there were other bakeries that would have gladly made the wedding cake. This issue is that homosexual activists are at a place now that they cannot tolerate diverse views on sexuality.
As this article demonstrates, this is just one of multiple and growing numbers of cases across the country where people are being asked to check their belief system at their house of worship or stay out of the public marketplace.
As we demonstrated during our successful effort to stop Proposition 5 in Anchorage, Alaskans have the ability to demonstrate tolerance while still cherishing and protecting the religious liberties that are foundational to our way of life and to our nation's origin.
With the recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling regarding gay "marriage", we can expect many more assaults on our personal freedoms in the coming months and years. Be thankful we have defined marriage in our own Alaska State Constitution as a union between one man and one woman and stay educated as we defend our rights with grace and humility.

Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in Him [Jesus] because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.” John 4:39 John 4:38-40 (in Context) John 4 (Whole Chapter) Other Translations
A Testimony: a firsthand authentication of a fact;evidence.
The deadliest killer of hope is silence. When we hold back our testimony we shut the door of hope on the next person.
Our silence is deadly but our testimonies are powerful. It is through our testimony’s that Christ is revealed. When Christ is revealed hearts are transformed, faith grows, hope is raised and lives are changed. The story of the Samaritan Woman (John 4) is one of my favorite stories in the bible for it beautifully displays the power of our testimonies and the heart transformation that takes place when Christ is revealed to a person. She began as a social outcast, divorced by five men and living with a man who is not her husband. Seeking water at Jacob’s well at the high noon hour, a time where she could avoid the stares and comments of the townspeople who avoid the heat of the noon day. There she met a man named Jesus who told her everything she ever did yet, He did not judge her or condemn her but asked her for a drink and offered her the drink of living water. Jesus said to her, whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.-John 4:14 In this account of Jesus’ ministry the Samaritan Woman is the first person Jesus revealed Himself too as the Messiah, no parables, no riddles, just Him.
The woman said, “I know that Messiah” (called Christ) “is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.” Then Jesus declared, “I, the one speaking to you—I am He.” –John 4:25-26
From Social Outcast to Minister of the New Covenant: The Transformation. Leaving her water jug behind (imagine how filled and complete she felt) she boldly goes into the town to a people with whom she was once too ashamed to face, to share her experience with Christ. Her ministry was effective because scripture says that many of the Samaritans believed in Him because of her testimony. One woman’s testimony was the catalyst that drew an entire town of believers to Christ.
Your testimony, Men and Women of God, is the greatest gift you can give this world.

Reflectons by Pastor Howard Hornbuckle
Today I'm overwhelmed with joy about the provision the Lord gives through prayer.
I preached a message not long ago "God Answers Prayers" taken from Acts 12:5. In the text the church prayed for Peter's release while he was in prison. The constant prayer of the saints resulted in Peter's deliverance. The answer to prayer was so miraculous that many of the church members were shocked when Peter showed up at the door!
Today, I believe God answered my prayer when he brought us the Casiano family. After meeting Elder Angel Casiano and his family, and spending time with them, I am inspired by their humility and complete commitment to the ministry. God confirmed my prayer when the Casiano family decided to make Lily of the Valley their home church.
Twenty years ago, God sent a man to my father, Bishop Hornbuckle's church. That man's first name was also Angel. Angel worked diligently alongside my father, remodeling and rebuilding the church. He was also a faithful member and strong supporter of my father's vision. That's why I was so amazed when Elder Casiano, who is a former Pastor, showed up.
God does answer prayer and the work of the Lord will continue.
Remember our church vision ~ "Planting seeds.........."
God Bless You

Ezra 8:21-31
King James Version (KJV)
21 Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river of Ahava, that we might afflict ourselves before our God, to seek of him a right way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance.
22 For I was ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him.
22 For I was ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him.
