A Word Study of: Redemption
Greek Translation: apolutrōsis or lutrōsis both words are translated as
redemption. Apolutrōsis is defined as, the
act of freeing or releasing by paying a ransom price. Lutrōsis is defined as, the act of buying back by paying a ransom
price.
The wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). Jesus Christ paid the ransom price for our sins with His own
blood thus freeing us (redeeming us) from the demands of the law and its curse
on sin to become children of God.
