Lathrop’s Gladden wins high jump at Big C Relays
Lathrop senior Tevin Gladden was the only Interior Alaska high school athlete to register a victory during the season-opening Big C Relays track and field meet on Friday and Saturday at The Dome in Anchorage.
Gladden, last year’s Class 4A state champion, won the boys high jump Friday for the second straight year in the Big C Relays.
Gladden cleared 6 feet, 2 inches in The Dome on Friday. He outleaped runner-up Jay Ulen of Soldotna by an inch.
Gladden won at last year’s Big C Relays with an attempt of 6-5 and he took the state title last May at Lathrop with a 6-2 effort.
