The book of Ezra 4:6-23 speaks of a time when the city walls of Jerusalem lay in ruin. Over the years there many attempts to rebuild the walls,but with not much success. Nehemiah then took up the great task of rebuilding the city walls even after numerous failed attempts.
18 And I told them of the hand of my God that had been upon me for good, and also of the words that the king had spoken to me. And they said, “Let us rise up and build.” So they strengthened their hands for the good work.
